PJ&Co was founded by Gregor Paterson-Jones, a development financier in the green infrastructure finance and social impact sectors. The company continues the works he started in 2016, by providing consulting services to developmental fund, Multilateral Bank, DFI, Sovereign and Private clients in Infrastructure, development and green finance.
With a robust career that spans over 26 years and many proven successes as a principle investor in renewable energy funds and infrastructure investment banking sectors, he now focuses on advising development banks, governments and international organisations on fund establishment and deal execution across several key industries. He was previously Managing Director the UK Green Investment Bank, and CEO of Sterling Waterford, after a career at Deloitte Consulting.
Jeannetta is an energy, public-private partnership (PPP) and finance/project finance consultant and lawyer. She has over ten years of experience in advising private developers, lenders, donors and governments on large-scale infrastructure and PPP transactions in energy, agriculture, ICT, health, mining, manufacturing, among other sectors. Jeannetta has worked as a transaction advisor and assisted projects and developers across East and Central Africa, the Caribbean and East and South Asia, including serving as the Lead Transaction Advisor for the Government of Rwanda's first PPP unit and a Transaction Advisor for Rwanda and Burundi for Power Africa. In her legal career, Jeannetta spent time as a leveraged finance and project finance associate at Shearman & Sterling LLP representing banks, sponsors, and institutional investors in cross-border transactions, as well as within the legal departments of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe and the UN. She has worked with a variety of international institutions including USAID, OPIC, the World Bank, African Development Bank, among others. Jeannetta holds a Juris Doctorate from Boston University and a Bachelor’s Degree from Wake Forest University in Political Science and Japanese.
Yen has Bachelor and Master Degrees in International Relations with professional stock brokerage certificates issued by the State Securities Commission of Vietnam and is based in Hanoi. She has 15 years of experience as Director of Investor Relations of Saigon-Hanoi Commercial JS Bank, involved in the bank’s issuance of USD 300M 3-year senior bond in the Singapore market. Prior to this she was Financial Institutions (FI) Relationship Manager for Baoviet Bank, a bank under a leading SOE financial holdings groupand OpenAsia Consulting Ltd. She has most recently worked as National Consultant for ADB-funded projects in green banking and green financing in the energy sector for Vietnam, including the pilot green bond issuance for Vietnam, with NGPJ.
Vladimir has more than 25 years of experience in sustainable energy and infrastructure project finance, investment banking, and carbon markets. He also participated in developing and implementing sustainability, climate, energy, and environmental policies in the US, Russia, Central Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, South and East Asia. He is one of the early practitioners of carbon markets and carbon finance and played a key role in setting up and managing several carbon and sustainable energy funds and finance facilities.
Zach is a development finance consultant with over a decade of experience leading complex advisory assignments focused on impact, strategy and investment catalysis in emerging economies. His experience is particularly deep in renewable energy and climate change mitigation through private sector and PPP transactions. His past work spans energy access/transition, agriculture, forestry, energy generation/efficiency, climate change mitigation/adaptation, financial sector development, business incubation and inclusive finance. He has deep technical expertise in financial innovation, blended finance, strategic decision making, knowledge product development and results/impact measurement. His previous clients include the MDBs, most of the International Climate Fund (including the Climate Investment Funds) and many DFIs, commercial insurers/banks and impact-oriented investment funds. He holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Michigan’s Ford School of Public Policy and is a Fulbright Scholar.
A specialist in international development, Jenni is experienced in managing and advising on complex projects with a range of government, development finance, private sector and multilateral clients to improve financial services and fulfill the Sustainable Development Goals. Her most recent work is with the IFC, Financial Institutions Group,in the Pacific. Thematic areas of her work and publications include, entrepreneurship, gender equality, digital finance, poverty alleviation, and climate resiliency.
Her day-to-day has ranged from facilitating strategy workshops with government and private sector boards and executive teams, to supporting policy impact measurement, negotiating risk frameworks, market research, and designing financial products. Jenni has a masters in Public Policy from the University of Cambridge. Her publications and research interests revolve around green investment, the role of public sector financial institutions in facilitating trade and innovation, and in measuring development/social impact.
Experienced consultant and project manager across multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects, particularly in energy. In his final year thesis, Josh undertook a stochastic modelling exercise to optimise the transition to renewables in rural and regional areas. Josh has worked across governments to manage and deliver in environments with competing political interest and agendas. In the energy sector, his work includes the design and implementation of renewable transition programs, risk management, hedging and assessment, and advising large-entities on transition to clean energy sources.
Additional work includes development of renewable energy assessment frameworks, designed to facilitate the transition to renewables for state-owned or partnered utility providers.
His day-to-day ranges from data analysis and energy sector measurement and verification to government workshops, project management and program strategy development.
Julia has built up a broad skill set and network, having worked in London’s financial industry for 11+ years in advisory, management and investment roles for companies such as BlackRock, Mazars and several boutique firms. Julia is an expert transaction advisor, project manager, and financial modeller. Her specialities are project finance and corporate finance, with a focus on renewable energy and infrastructure in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. She has worked on transactions ranging from EUR 500,000 up to EUR 3 billion. Her approach is geared towards finding simple solutions to complex problems. Julia holds a MSc in Economics and Business, Finance, Stockholm School of Economics, as well as an MA in International Management, CEMS MIM Program, London School of Economics. Julia is based in London, UK.
David is a qualified Chartered Accountant with over 17 years’ experience in the Corporate Finance, Investment and Project Finance related industries. He has extensive experience in managing, negotiating and implementing complex transactions as well as providing strategic guidance in both the natural resources and renewable energy sectors, most recently as the CIO for ENGIE Solar (Africa). His experience extends to securing both debt and equity investment for Project Financed renewable energy projects in Africa and has successfully raised over ZAR10 billion in this regard.
Beyond his transactional experience, David also has a broad operational experience having represented at Board level as both FD and CEO of operational, utility scale renewable energy projects as well as being a financial institution appointed FD of a listed company undergoing restructuring.
Prior ENGIE Solar, David was a Corporate Finance executive at Anglo American and also obtained various financial services sector experience at Lehman Brothers and Standard Bank in London.
Tamer is a renewable and off-grid energy expert, project developer, and strategy and operations consultant. Recently he helped scale the MIT-incubated startup OnePower, now a leading off-grid developer in sub-Saharan Africa, to reach financial close on the world’s 2nd largest minigrid transaction and the first utility-scale solar project in Lesotho. He is also consulting the World Bank Caribbean team to help incubate the local renewable energy sector. His work experience ranges from technical project management for organizations such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the US Department of Energy to program management for a host of international organizations such as the UN and USAID. He is a McCloy Fellow ("German Rhodes") and currently serves as an academic and career advisor to Harvard University students. He holds a degree in mechanical engineering from UDE (Germany) and a degree in public policy from Harvard University. He is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
